Inspiration:
The Into the Light Collection explores the shift from darkness into light that we all experience throughout our lives when we go through dark or troubling times and the hope and happiness that we search for to help us move on.
This collection is particularly personal to me as it also represents the journey that I have been on for the last 2-3 years where I have experienced tragedy and grief in my life and have been able to move through these dark times and into a positive and bright future.
These kind of experiences can also set into motion positive changes or opportunities in our lives that may not have happened otherwise. For myself, taking time away from my full time job to get better caused me to revisit my love of painting as a form of therapy and this then spurred me on to create this collection.
The timing of releasing this collection also feels particularly fitting. We unfortunately are living through times where it feels like there is so much darkness around us, whether that’s through global events that are happening, hate feeling like it’s on the rise, or times getting tougher for people. And as much as this can make us feel hopeless and like those brighter times are never going to return, it’s important to appreciate and hold dear the beautiful moments, no matter how small, as these will continue to motivate us to keep searching for the light and triumph over the darkness.
Details:
This is a mixed media painting on a 38mm gallery wrapped canvas and finished with a removable UV matte varnish. The edges are painted a dark blue and you have the choice to order it unframed or in a simple float frame made from varnished ayous wood. This piece is titled and signed on the back and will arrive wired and ready to hang.
